Skill and Job Guarantee Plan
Why the plan is developed?
Today, 1 out of 3 Indian graduates are unemployed and more than 85%-90% graduates are unemployable. Industry associations ASSOCHAM and FICCI have repeatedly warned that India’s perceived demographic dividend could turn into a demographic disaster unless the education structures were reformed drastically to train students for the emerging job markets. By 2020, 240 million (double the number today) will seek college education. Contrast these numbers with the fact that as of today, only around 5% of our graduates are employable, and even they need some amount of training to become industry-ready. If we can harness this powerhouse of the nation in the right direction then the country can reach untold heights.
How our plan is addressing the above issues?
Our objective is to create an environment where students learn by doing industry works from the beginning of their higher education. Our objective is to prepare students to perform jobs (in parallel to their regular education) that they are supposed to do after completing their education. The approach makes our youth highly skilled, experienced and employed on completion of their graduation and they do not become a job seeker but participate actively in the workforce.
We create a competitive, yet co-operative, knowledge based society. Not just any kind of education for qualifications or employment, but the right kind of job oriented practical workshops to make our students scientific, logical, open-minded, self respecting, responsible, honest and patriotic.
